RLY

RLY is an acronym for the group otherwise known as Real Like You, the five piece
girl band blending big pop hooks and even bigger harmonies, who are redefining the
antiquated expectations placed on young women in a high pressured world where
filters, Facetune and advertising augments our reality. Halle, Jess, Kelli, Kyra and
Virginia embody the diverse individuality of girls from different ethnicities, places and
identities finding their way in the life, shoulder to shoulder with their fans.
RLY’s sound is a blend of heavy basslines, nostalgic melodies and lyrics designed to
challenge the mainstream response to issues like self-esteem, sexuality, body image
and heartbreak that affect women worldwide. Lyrics like “moved up a size in my
dress” and “since you’ve been gone I’ve been healing” in ‘Superpower’ speak to the
shift in culture amongst women bucking the trend of the heartbreak diet and staying
in toxic relationships.
