Aifric

Aifric is a singer and songwriter from Galway whose music feels driven by something elemental; what she calls “holding a ball of fire that wants to be thrown somewhere”. Raised in the culture of “béal focal” (meaning ‘Words of the Mouth’) and shaped by the ruggedness of the West of Ireland, Aifric began writing poetry and plays while living between caravans, boats and many months spent in solitude in the countryside, unknowingly forming the primitive, poetic and rhythmic foundations of her sound. Once Aifric discovered that her voice, her words and melody could hold everything she wanted to say, songwriting became a daily obsession.
