The newly crowned Hamburg Music Award winner and Spotify Artist to Watch 2026, LINA-MARIAH, embodies the sound of riot girlism, grunge, and uncompromising pop — teenage angst condensed into pure energy: rebellious, explicit, and authentic as fuck.
Her songs flip from hypnotic flow to violent grunge within seconds — from a whisper to pure dynamite. Growing up with a psychopathic mother and an absent father, music became her only way out: modern sound colliding with fuzzy ’90s guitars à la Nirvana.
After running away from home and moving to Hamburg at the age of 16, she and her band began playing guerrilla gigs on street corners — always performing until the police showed up. All that energy, aggression, and despair fuse into a fuck-you attitude that somehow is a lot of fun to listen to.
In 2025, she played major festivals in Germany (including Reeperbahn Festival, Waves Vienna, Dockville, etc.) and was just announced as one of Spotify’s Artists to Watch 2026 a couple of weeks ago.
