August are a five headed beast living in a couple of hard to pin down apartment blocks between Harry Nilsson, Tom Waits, Beck, and TV on the Radio. In theory art rock, in hypothesis pop, in reality entertaining and averse to labelling (if you couldn’t tell). The New York-Bermuda-Sheffield-Essex-Devonian outfit have been dragging their no-seconds-wasted medicine show across London the last year, garnering them some smiles and even a few waves. Don’t freak out when the lights dim, but please do sing along.
