The Great Escape is delighted to announce Bathing Suits as the winner of the Steve Strange Award 2026, as voted for by The Great Escape delegates.
Selected from this year’s incredible lineup of emerging artists, the electro-noise band have been recognised as one of the most exciting breakthrough acts to perform at our 20th anniversary edition and will receive the award’s £5,000 cash prize to support the next stage of their journey.
Created in memory of the late Steve Strange, renowned music agent, live music champion and longstanding supporter of emerging talent, the award celebrates an artist making a standout impact at The Great Escape and helps provide meaningful support as they take the next steps in their career.
Now firmly established as a highlight of The Great Escape conference programme, the Steve Strange Award shines a spotlight on the artists generating real excitement among the music industry, with voting exclusively open to registered delegates attending the festival.
Bathing Suits made a huge impression at The Great Escape 2026, earning recognition from the delegates who spend their time at TGE discovering and championing the next wave of global talent.
The award has previously helped spotlight standout artists including Zetra, AGGRASOPPAR, Audio Books and more, further cementing its reputation as a marker for exciting new talent to watch.
