SUPERMARKET was formed in 1997 and is considered one of the earliest electronic bands in China, as well as a key pioneer of Chinese electronic music. Their debut album Model (1998) established their influential position in the country’s electronic music scene. Centered on synthesizers, their sound blends new wave, synth-pop, and electronic rock.
