Swank Mami is turning heads with her sleek pop music. The 24-year old Somali artist from Oslo has been featured on The Fader, Face, Crack Magazine, Nylon and Dazed, who crowned her a “popstar tearing through the fast lane”. Today, she shares her debut EP Eurostar via NYC taste-maker label Honeymoon (home to 454, Mercury and Rejjie Snow).
Eurostar features lead singles “Poison” (premiered by The Fader and played on The Zane Lowe Show) and “I Saw U” (placed #9 in Spotify’s POLLEN playlist), which was accompanied by the Bergen film festival-nominated video courtesy of Oslo dream team Maria Hilde (Sassy 009’s go-to director) and Christopher Helberg.
Swank was also hand-picked to be in Travis Scott’s new movie “Circus Maximus” in the segment directed by Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive) and is performing at this year’s by:Larm after making her festival debut at Trondheim Calling.
