The Great Escape is launching a ground-breaking new professional development programme at this year’s Conference called TGE Elevate, funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
What is TGE Elevate all about?
It’s a brand new professional development programme that will ensure that the next generation of music industry leaders get even more from The Great Escape, helping them elevate their careers to the next level.
What does it involve?
The core TGE Elevate programme will provide thirty super-delegates – including artists, managers, promoters, label executives and music educators – with an enhanced, subsidised and curated delegate experience. This will include a personally created conference schedule, access to invite-only seminars and networking events, and Q&A sessions with a number of music industry VIPs.
How are participants being selected?
TGE is now working with organisations like the Association Of Independent Music, the Association Of Independent Promoters, the Featured Artists Coalition, the Music Venue Trust, Creative & Cultural Skills and the Music Managers Forum to identify participants for the core programme. Each of these organisations will nominate a long-list of people who they believe will truly benefit from this opportunity. TGE will then select and invite a final team.
How else can people benefit from TGE Elevate?
In addition to the core super-delegate programme, TGE Elevate will support the next generation of music industry leaders in other ways too. On the Saturday of the TGE Conference we will present a series of Elevate Seminars as part of the O2 Presents: DIY Academy programme. Curated by CMU:DIY, these will be open to all TGE delegates and festival wristband holders. We will also publish an online Elevate Guide ahead of this year’s festival, offering invaluable tips and advice on how to get more from a music conference and showcase festival.
