King’s Lagoon Flying Swordfish Dance Band

Progressive musical ideas and a striking visual style sit comfortably alongside the more traditional and vintage elements of the African and South American inspired rhythms and melodies to create something fresh, powerful, highly energetic and fun. Through the burning of oils and incense, the pulverising of fruit and the boiling of herbs, the Smell Technician creates a developing mix of energising and mysterious aromas. This versatile group of musicians based in Brighton and London also perform or have performed with acts such as Kalakuta Millionaires, Los Chinches, Norma Winstone, The Gambian National Drum and Dance Group and Turkish percussion master Okay Temiz. The Flying Swordfish have dazzled audiences at festivals such as Bestival, Paris’ La Briche Foraine, London Remixed Festival and Secret Garden Party. London venues including Rich Mix, Passing Clouds, Chelsea Arts Club and Hootananny. Glasgow’s SWG3 and The Komedia in Brighton.
