Kawa is the most determined practitioner and pathfinder of the development of contemporary Chinese roots music. All the members of the band are from Yunnan Province, and the rich music culture of the Wa, Hui, Hani and other ethnic minorities has become the innate soil for nourishing the positioning and growth of the band. However, the uniqueness of Kawa lies in that it has completed a powerful collision between Chinese minority music and modern music concepts and technologies, and has made a bold and avant-garde attempt for the plurality, epochal, circulating and innovation of Chinese local music.
