Throughout his career, Huw has built a solid reputation within the music industry as a prominent supporter of new and unsigned talent. He began broadcasting on the BBC in 1999, when aged 17, he became the youngest ever DJ on BBC Radio 1, championing the music scene of his home country of Wales, as part of the station’s Nations output. He made his debut as a national broadcaster in 2005, presenting the station’s OneMusic show. Since then, he’s presented their BBC Music Introducing show, championing artists including Little Simz, HAIM, Loyle Carner and Wolf Alice in their early careers. Huw now presents Tuesday – Friday, 4-7pm on BBC Radio 6 Music, as well as on BBC Radio Cymru in the Welsh language and on BBC Radio Wales. Huw has also presented on BBC Radio 4 and hosted documentaries on Welsh Art and Music for BBC Wales. He is also the creator of Sŵn music festival in Cardiff and the co-founder of the Welsh Music Prize.
