Miss Kaninna is a proud Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung, Kalkadoon, and Yirendali woman from lutriwita/Tasmania, now based in Naarm (Melbourne). Making waves with her breakout debut single Blak Britney in May 2023, the rapper/singer/songwriter has been on a meteoric rise, emerging as a potent voice of punk and power in so-called Australia.
Named the Sydney SXSW Emerging Artist of the Year, with her 2024 debut EP, KANINNA, making waves internationally, Miss Kaninna is up for 3 ARIA Awards, making history as the first independent Aboriginal artist to receive nominations for her debut single.
