“Music Venue Trust is excited to be holding our first stage at The Great Escape showcasing grassroots music venues in Brighton and across the UK, as well as many exciting grassroots artists. Music Venue Trust is a registered charity, created in January 2014 to protect, secure and improve the UK live music network by securing the long-term future of iconic grassroots music venues such as Hull Adelphi, Exeter Cavern, Southampton Joiners, The 100 Club, Band on the Wall, Tunbridge Wells Forum etc. These venues have played a crucial role in the development of British music over the last 40 years, nurturing local talent, providing a platform for artists to build their careers and develop their music and their performance skills.  MVT work to gain recognition of the essential role these venues fulfil, not only for artist development but also for the cultural and music industries, the economy and local communities. MVT aim to preserve and improve venues, making them more efficient and improving the experience for performers and audiences. Long-term MVT plan to acquire the freeholds of as many of these vital venues as possible.

Revive Live was conceived by Music Venue Trust, and is funded by The National Lottery, to support the grassroots music eco-system in its recovery from the Covid pandemic. The groundbreaking campaign has seen household names such as Tom Jones, Becky Hill, Kojey Radikal, Rag ‘N’ Bone Man, KSI, and Enter Shikari playing one-off dates in small, independently-run venues to highlight the importance of these grassroots venues devastated by the pandemic. Revive Live also funded hundreds of live shows at grassroots music venues across the country by a range of artists – both established and emerging – including Carl Barat, The Snuts, Bob Vylan, Pip Blom and The Wytches. Revive Live kickstarted the return of live music across the UK. Music Venue Trust are excited about developing the programming further and representing even more diversity from artists around the UK.
