Next year marks 15 years of The Great Escape – what better way to celebrate our birthday than organising a road trip?
The Road To The Great Escape, is a brand new live music showcase taking place in Glasgow and Dublin in the run up to the main festival in Brighton. With a great selection of emerging UK and international acts announced today, we can’t wait to bring a taste of TGE to some brand new cities.
We’ll be kicking things off in Glasgow, with 2 jam-packed all-dayers at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut on 9th -10th May. Our Scottish leg will see exclusive appearances from native indie pop sensations Somebody’s Child, local nu-folk talent Lizzie Reid, and refreshingly earnest London singer songwriter Matilda Mann.
The Road To The Great Escape will then move on to Dublin, where we’ll be taking over Academy 2, The Grand Social, Tramlines and Lost Lane for multiple shows on the evenings of 11th -12th May. From Irish songwriter April to London rap collective House Of Pharaohs, we’ll be showcasing a huge range of rising talent in true TGE style.
Artists joining us on the road and making appearances at both locations include hotly tipped Glaswegian theatrical punks Walt Disco, Essex’s rising folk-country star Mabes, Blackpool experimental punks Strange Bones, and the enigmatic indie alternative guru Oscar Lang.
See here for the full list of acts announced so far, with more artists to follow in both cities.
Tickets for The Road to The Great Escape will go on sale at 9am on 24th January
