Perhaps fitting for a band conceived in a monas- tery in Upper Austria, Hearts Hearts create beau- tiful, elegiac songs which live at the intersection of classical and contemporary electronic and pop music.
What started in 2010 as a singer/songwriter duo between David Österle and Daniel Hämmerle soon grew into a full-fledged band with Johannes Mandorfer on drums and Peter Paul Aufreiter on bass and electronics. Their sound started to grow, gaining dimension, texture and variety.
Years go by, as the band is taking their time to find their own vocabulary, experimenting with song structures and sonic possibilities. These sessions also included experimental cellist Christina Ruf, who played a crucial part in the making of the songs that soon should form the band’s debut album Young.
